I paint to look into myself… to explore the subconscious, to get out what is sealed in through my day to day. I paint to connect to material to natural urges… to my body… to my automatic responses to be physical… to make sense of, or even make no sense of the life I am living. To turn thoughts and feelings into images. I paint to feel powerful… to feel that my mind and existence has some worth… to connect to others in a way only paint really can do. Some conversations are best in image.
These small works are private, fragile, sensitive - become bigger through the sheer number produced. Emotion comes through in the way the paint is applied… I like working fast, with a human touch and away from digital,… I want to connect, I want to draw attention, it helps me process and understand.
